A document that describes those terms and conditions that are going to administer the whole maintenance of a given product by its provider or manufacturer, is known as a maintenance contract proposal. Most of the manufacturers in the industry have a system to have a check on the repairs and maintenance of their products especially if these products are having warranty and are still in the warranty period. This type of a contract for maintenance of certain products can also be signed even after the expiry of warranty period and the purpose of this type of contract is to make it sure that a quality check can be kept on a product to ensure its longer life.

This contract proposal contains the information about the maintenance provider, date of maintenance contract, name of the parties, and type of maintenance services to be provided, product details, product purchase date, invoice details, body of the contract proposal having brief description of the maintenance, mode of payment and date of payment. This contract proposal ends with the name of the service provider company concerned official, his signatures and seal. Generally two types of maintenance are required i.e. comprehensive maintenance and service only.
